Automatic cover

Automatic Pool Covers

A cover that closes the pool when you are done swimming, for a safer pool that holds its heat.

Chapter 01

Safer and warmer, automatically

An automatic cover is a simple way to make your pool safer and more energy efficient. When it is closed it creates a barrier, and it cuts heat loss and water evaporation at the same time.

That means lower energy and chemical use, less maintenance, and a pool that stays warmer and cleaner when it is not in use. Big savings and safety, automatically.

How a cover works day to day

The idea is that closing the pool stops being a chore. Most automatic covers run along tracks at the sides of the pool and wind into a housing at one end, so a closed pool is covered edge to edge and an open one is ready to swim, with no cover to drag, fold or store.

One condition applies: proper water chemistry and regular maintenance are required to ensure safe operation and to protect the pool, the cover system and the surrounding areas. A cover does not replace the water routine, it depends on it.

Chapter 03

New build or existing pool

An automatic cover is easiest to plan while a pool is still on paper, because the housing, the tracks and the coping line can be laid out together with the steps and benches. If you are choosing a cover for a new Goodlin build, bring it up at the first conversation.

An existing pool is a different question and depends on the pool itself, its shape and its deck. Call the store at 718 North Pike Road in Cabot, describe what you have, and ask what would fit. The less time worrying, the more time enjoying.

Pick the cover with the pool

If the goal is a barrier you lay over the water and anchor into the deck, read about the mesh safety cover instead. Whichever you choose, the water testing and chemistry routine is what keeps a cover system working, and the finished pools in the gallery show what a cover has to sit on.
